Blitz Rating Archives

1970-1998

An archive of post-tournament ratings for every player from every rated blitz tournament ever played in Montreal from December 1970 to December 1998.

The file contains 41,172 records, and is in a 276k zip file, which expands to 1.7 meg. It is sorted by last name.

Note that prior to 1982, each chess club had a seperate rating, thus players playing at different clubs on/near the same dates may have had vastly different ratings.

Here is the layout of the file.

• Positions 1-5: ID number.
• Positions 7-25: Last and first names.
• Positions 27-30: Post-tournament rating.
• Positions 32-39: Date of tournament (yyyymmdd).
